Paid separately

What sits outside the programme

Two costs are kept separate on purpose, so nothing is hidden inside the programme price.

Medication

Bought at your pharmacy of choice. The price depends on the pharmacy and your dose. As a rough guide, budget for a monthly medication cost once you reach a steady dose. Your doctor will give you a clearer estimate during your consultation.

We keep medication separate so you are never paying a marked-up bundle.

Blood tests

Paid directly to your pathology lab. Most medical aid plans cover this from your savings account, so many patients pay nothing out of pocket.

Recent bloods from the last three months can often be reused.

Medical aid

Can you claim?

Most South African medical aids do not yet cover GLP-1 treatment for weight management, though this is gradually changing. Your blood tests are usually claimable from your medical savings account. We are happy to provide an itemised invoice that you can submit to your medical aid for consideration. Learn more in our guide on medical aid and GLP-1 medication.
